Hi guys I've mounted yesterday the new LED REAR LIGHTS on my Q7 but there are no-way to use them only recoding my Address 46:
Central Conv.Part No SW: 4L0 910 289 F HW: 4L0 907 289 C
Component: Komfortgeraet H07 0040.
I've tried adding a + 0004096 (SAE rear lights) or a +0131072 (as told here by Q7US_S-line) to the actual coding but unfortunately w/o succes.
The Tail lights stay always on both the Brake-zone and the other zone. I've found a temporary solution using resistors to simulate the consumption of 21W bulbs but I believe it's mandatory to change the 46 comfort module with a more recent one like the one mounted on my friend 2010 MY:
Part No SW: 4L0 910 289 H HW: 4L0 907 289 H
Component: Komfortgeraet H09 0100
It seems impossible to find a wiring diagram of the 2010 Q7 on my Elsawin so I am temporarily short on details
Any help will be apreciated
OK finally found the solution of my rear-led problems.
Yesterday my friend Emil (alias R8.... as usual many many thanks) confirmed me that a new J393 (the 46 CENTRAL CONVENIENCE UNIT) was the solution for new MY 2010 TAIL LIGHTS with leds.
This morning I did an inquiry from the AUDI ITALY Sellers-Circuit just to find the 4L0 910 289 H unit but unfortunately nobody of them had the spare part so only a GERMANY-direct order with minimum 5 days to wait was possible.:evil::evil:
I phoned to my friend Andrea at NAVISTORE-Mantova (the best italian structure for the AUDI Retrofits www.navistore.it) and Miracle!....... he had the unit in stock so I decided to go to find him. We swapped the existant 46 CENTRAL CONV. module with the new one, recoded it and removed the component protection by his local Audi dealer.
The J393 unit is mounted on the LUGGAGE COMPARTEMENT right side near the Navigation DVD Driver and the code to added for the new Tail lights with led is + 0131072.
Here some pics , unfortunately this night here it's raining.........

Hi Again,
I have ordered the 4L0 910 289H and installed it and had the component protection removed at the audi dealer. Now the brake lights and the yellow indicators all light up together, so turning 1 side make the blinker and the brake ight light up, and braking makes the blinkers light up... I tried everything, but now I notice the control unit is labeled 4L0 907 289H, even as it was in a box that was labeled 4L0 910 289H. Do I have the wrong unit or is there something wrong with my coding?
help is very much appreciated.
You have the wrong coding, the unit is OK.
First you have to remove the Component Protection, second you have to be sure that the coding is correct. The correct coding to work with the LED tail lights is obtained by adding 0131072 to the coding you have.
You will have to connect the old unit, read the coding value, then replace the unit, and put the new coding value.
Here are 3 pictures of the 4L0 910 289H unit location.
as you see it is clicked in a holder just left of the dvd Navi unit. The top of the unit is held by the edge of the booth floor. On the picture of the rail, you see a bolt you need to loose, and 2 more further down the rail. Now you can lift the booth floor up a few mm's so you can slide out the unit.
There are 3 connectors in it, that all 3 work differently. the blue one has a pink lever that needs to be lifted up, the black one has 1 notch that needs to be pushed in to remove it, and the brown one is the tricky one, it has 2 pins that need to be pressed simultaniously in order to release it, patience is needed. especially because you are working with your fingers out of sight.
hey guys, just got done with the 2010 facelift head lights and turns. every thing works but the high beams and i get codes for open and short for the parking lights.
work done:
i moved the front parking lights up to the head lights, (at headlight connector: moved pin12 to pin 10, then ran parking light wire to newly open 12)
for the turn signals, i just adapted the new plug for LED turns
ive done the to bridges at j519 from connector t10a pin 2 = t32b pin 15 and t10a pin 8 to t32b pin 4. (With this i had no wires in the T10a for pins 2 and 8. i had to put them in)
and ive coded module 9 to 0113123
im sure that the answer is somewhere in this thread but im about done here at work and dont have internet at home. thanks to all the hard work and help of the people that have posted their work.
Hi gregtay,
It sounds like you forgot to recode. The brake lights should not light up with the blinkers. Mine did so also before I recoded
I looked at the coding... I did have it recoded, but the center LEDs still come on with the upper (red in the US model) blinker bar.
Here's my coding for 46: (am i missing something?)
Original code: 3438621
Added 0131072
New Code 3569693
Strangly... the lights work exactly the same with the old and new codes. So i am wondering what change (if any) the new code made.
Have you replaced the control Unit? If yes, have you removed the Component Protection?
Yes and yes. New controller and the dealer removed CP.

Problem solved.... I went back to the original code and added for just SAE lights... now they are working great! (just the blinker bar lighting up.)
So my new correct code is : 3442717
Does anyone know what options make up 0131072?.. just curious since that didn't work for my Q7.
Glad you solved it. 4096 had to be added because you have the US version of the tail lights, i guess. I dont have much experience with coding for us vehicles.
hi
I have fitted a set of facelift led rear lights and the central convenience module with part number 4L0 910 289 H but am unsure on the coding. Here's a pic of what coding my old control module had:-
This is what the coding is when i connect the new 'H' module
I have read the thread and it says to add + 0131072 to the number i already had so I coded the new module with 7479477 but it didn't do anything. None of the rear lights work?
Is the coding correct? I know i have to remove component protection at the audi dealers but i read that you can do that later, the only thaing that won't work is my electric boot-lid until its removed? Can anybody help please as i'm a bit stuck.
Thank You
